Australopithecus afarensis Lucy Jaw KO-036-J Australopithecus afarensis, "Lucy" A.L. 288-1, jaw KO-036-J. Discovered by Donald Johanson in 1974 in Ethiopia, "Lucy", at 3.2 million years has been considered the first human.
