Articulated Chimpanzee Skeleton SC-003-A This specimen is a particularly large male. Chimpanzees are our closest living relatives, our genetic ties being far closer than those that chimps share with gorillas. We share 96 to 99.5% of our genetic material. A robust and lively ape, the Chimpanzee is capable of insight, and has the ability to create and use tools. Chimpanzees have the most human-like features of the great apes. Articulated Bipedal Chimpanzee Skeleton SC-003-BP Our impressive Chimp skeleton mounted in the bipedal stance measures 4'2" (4'9" with the base). While Chimpanzees normally move on all fours, this mounting is useful as a study comparison to humans and other mounted primates in upright position.
