Articulated Duck-Billed Platypus Skeleton SC-026-A The Platypus skeleton is very primitive, almost reptilian like. Platypus are the species voted "The Most Cobbled Together" by naturalists and taxonomists. In the order Monotremata, they are primitive mammals that lay eggs as well as suckle their young with milk produced by their mother's glands. Males are equipped with a poisonous spur.
