May 15th, 2026 marks the 20th annual Endangered Species Day. It is observed annually on the third Friday of May to raise awareness of endangered species and to recognize species that have recovered due to conservation efforts.


When Bone Clones began in 1993, the very first product was a cast of an endangered western lowland gorilla skull. One of our primary goals since the beginning has been to produce casts of animals that would normally be taken from the wild to obtain their skeletons for study or display. If high-quality casts are readily available, the demand for real bone specimens is then reduced.
