The tibia is the large major weight bearing bone in the lower leg. Often referred to as the “shin-bone”, it articulates with the femur, fibula and talus. This right tibia is absent of the proximal end with a clear transverse cut at mid-shaft of the diaphysis. There is a bone graft in the distal portion of the shaft just above the medial malleolus. Those interested in human osteology and pathology will appreciate this incredible specimen.
