Dr. Gordon Hubbell is one of the world’s foremost experts in shark paleontology. Trained in veterinary medicine, he became the first full time veterinarian at the Miami Zoo and helped found the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians. During the course of his career, Dr. Hubbell began fossil collecting in the late 1960’s and became particularly interested in fossil sharks. Through the years, Dr. Hubble has obtained shark teeth from all over the world, creating one of the most comprehensive collections of shark teeth in existence.

Dr. Hubbell’s interest in sculpture began after a visit to Nairobi where he saw a beautiful bronze elephant sculpture. The African elephant is sculpted in a charging position and made of bronze-finished resin, capturing the detail in the sculpture. This sculpture is a wonderful gift idea to anyone interested in fine art or natural history.
