Innominate and femur set from Orangutan Skeleton SC-002. Orangutans are the largest arboreal primate that exhibit occasional quadrupedalism. This is partially due to the architecture of the pelvis and femur that shift the center of gravity to just in front of the pelvis. Orangutans and other apes have narrow and tall pelves with the femur pointed straight down, making them lean forward to plant their knuckles on the ground during quadrupedal motion.
