Pelvis

The basic form of the tetrapod (four-legged creatures) pelvis joins the right and left hind limbs with the sacral vertebra to form a protective bony ring around the rear trunk, required for weight-bearing, muscle attachments and protection of abdominal and pelvic organs. In this category, one will find the pelves of humans, hominins, apes, monkeys and reptiles.
