Paleoanthropology Skulls

Hominid skulls hold valuable information as to the evolutionary history of modern day humans. Over millions of years, the cranial structure of hominids has changed to adjust to various environments and survival strategies. Paleoanthropologist will examine many features in order to understand these changes, including skull shape, eye-orbit construction, browridges, degree of prognathism (protrusion of maxilla and/or mandible) and dentition. This category features crania from archaic Homo, early Homo, Neanderthals, australopithecines and other hominins.
