Elephant Bird Egg

The Elephant bird egg was revered as a treasure by natives of Madagascar and European settlers and it is likely the invasion of humans on the island that aided in the bird’s extinction. Today the only evidence of the bird’s existence is represented by bones and samples of the impressive egg.
