Human Anatomy Skulls

The human skull is a complex element of the skeleton and is of major importance in human osteology. The skull has the potential to reveal sex, age, ancestry and particular characteristics of an individual. It houses the brain, forms the framework for the chewing apparatus and is the bony foundation for the senses; sight, smell, taste and hearing. The skull protects the mouth, trachea, initial portions of the breathing apparatus and digestive tract. This category will feature males, females, juveniles, adolescents, European, Asian, Native American, African American, Polynesian and Aborigine skulls.
