Wedge-capped Capuchin
			SC-263

The Wedge-capped Capuchin Monkey is a New World monkey found in South America. This intelligent primate has a broad diet of small vertebrates and bird eggs as well as fruit, nuts and vegetables. Its 20-inch tail is semi-prehensile and roughly doubles the length of this polygamous primate. A dominant male leads a group of 10 to 30 members, with mating rights to all receptive females. They have a lifespan in the wild of approximately 35 years. They can escape most predators by climbing up trees. They have more trouble escaping humans who desire them as pets.
