The snowy owl nests on the ground in the arctic with a clutch that depending on the food supply can range from 4-10 per year. It winters in parts of Canada and the U.S. The barn owl may be mistaken for the snowy owl because of its white underparts, but the snowy owl is bigger and has small, yellow eyes. Our expert artists paint each with meticulous care to match the eggs that were used in the casting process. Each egg is hand painted with permanent dyes and sealed with a resistant coating that makes it ideal for handling, study, teaching, as well as for display.

Owl eggs are naturally white, but over time can appear darker in color due to their time in the nest. Our owl eggs are painted to match the original specimens as we received them, which is more tan in color.
