Articulated arm with scapula from Aye-aye Skeleton SC-353. The aye-aye's long, slender middle finger is its primary tool for detecting and extracting insect larvae from their tunnels within trees. This specialized finger is narrower than the others, and can swivel in practically any direction. The life history of this 10-year-old male aye-aye can be found in the Duke Lemur Center Database under the ID DLC6725.
