This bone pathology set provides an excellent example of diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH). The vertebrae are fused, the ribs are fused to the spine and to each other, and the right anterior longitudinal ligament is ossified. These remains are known to be from a 68 year-old European American male. This information and other known facts were documented at the time of the individual's death.
