Innominate from the Australopithecus afarensis A.L. 288-1 skeleton known as “Lucy.” Discovered by Donald Johanson in 1974 in Ethiopia. At 3.2 million years old, this discovery is considered to be among the most significant finds representing early stages in human evolution. The innominate suggests that this species was bipedal.
